Philosophy and AccreditationOur comprehensive approach to behavioral and emotional healthcare coupled with our connection with community resources, assure patients the best chance for continued support and success. Patients in crisis are stabilized in our inpatient facility and then transition smoothly to other services in the community when they are ready for discharge. Our goal is to return patients to a healthy living standard by tailoring treatment to the individual needs of each patient. This approach helps patients reestablish positive relationships, use new coping skills at home and work, and develop a stronger sense of self that will help them handle life's challenges. Family members play an important role in each patient's treatment, and PRH recognizes this by offering meetings with families and assistance with after-care planning. Highly Qualified StaffThe Center for Behavioral Health Services at PRH offers an exceptionally trained and experienced team of professionals, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychiatric nurses and counselors, social workers, and related clinicians. All Behavioral Health psychiatrists are Board Certified in their specialty. Social workers are Master's prepared. The Center for Behavioral Health Services FacilitiesThe Center for Behavioral Health Services at Portsmouth Regional Hospital is a multi-generational unit serving adults and adolescents ages 14 and older. Built in 1987, our facilities offer comfort, security, and privacy for patients and their families. Portsmouth Regional Hospital is a full-service medical-surgical hospital. Our services are quickly available should any medical emergency or complications arise during a patient's treatment. The Center for Behavioral Health Services opens its doors to a myriad of 12-step, self-help support groups that are open to the community at large. |
